Café Coconut Cove is a family-owned German restaurant with the beautiful look of the Indian River. In addition to its delicious meat-focused dishes, they have a warm, intimate environment and found about 10 minutes south of A1A. They even highlighted on chef Emeril Lagasse’s Florida featured show on the Cooking Channel!
Most of the visitors enjoy food at Djon’s at least once during their visit to Melbourne. It has an excellent atmosphere (live music by way of a piano performer or three-piece jazz ensemble), a more open patio with sunset scenes of the Indian River, and terrific food. Both the Manager, Rebecca and David in the lounge have a particular eye out for Port d’Hiver visitors to ensure a wonderful time! Djon’s is just a little three block walk, towards the river on Ocean Avenue.
Melbourne Beach’s excellent burritos! Owners Robb and Glenn Boykin undoubtedly take much of the mom-and-pop café’s friendly and social charm. With its fresh ingredients, handmade salsa and guacamole recipes, and juicy, smoked beef brisket, chicken, pork, or fish, their burritos can’t be copied or beat — just a little two block walk from the Inn. Operating hours are variable.
The Mansion is a different mix of Intracoastal views, dining, and drinks, with over 100 craft beers on tap and several spirits. It has an enclosed patio, indoor seating, a bar, and an open rooftop. It’s found 5-10 minutes west of the Inn, near historic, downtown Melbourne.
If you’re watching for live music (mostly Jimmy Buffett cover bands!) and lovely views of the Indian River, this is the spot. It has a very casual and pleasant environment, with a pub-type menu. They discovered 15 minutes north of the Inn.
El Ambia Cubano offers excellent Cuban food, outside of Miami. Established in a picturesque and charmingly eclectic house on the Indian River, its still within walking range to other downtown Melbourne shops and cafes. It is a Port d’Hiver ideal!
